The Oaks Course at Horsham Golf

A simply stunning start awaits you on the Oaks Course at Horsham Golf. The opening holes wind their way through mature woodland, making it one of the most memorable opening stretches you could hope to play.

Located 200 yards from the A24 and just one mile from Horsham town centre, the Oaks Course offers a scenic golfing environment all year round.

Designed by golf course architects Sparks and Myers, the modern construction of the course offers 6111 yards of rolling fairways and picturesque greens, meandering through what used to be the old Harwood Arabian Stud Farm. The addition of three new lakes alongside the original water features adds a dramatic element to the traditional English woodland layout. With five choices of tee box, the course provides different yardage options to challenge all golfers.

The Oaks Course provides a rewarding golfing experience by combining all the challenges and thrills that a golfer could desire with uplifting and beautiful walking landscapes. Although the course is new, it has a traditional and mature feel due to its exceptional construction and superb location.

USGA STANDARD
Greens

For most players, the condition of the greens on a golf course often defines the quality and impression that the golfer has when reflecting on the course they have just played. The Oaks Course at Horsham Golf benefits from greens constructed to USGA specifications, used across the most recognised course construction projects worldwide, with rootzones (the subsoil under the greens) specifically selected by agronomists to provide the best and most compatible solution to each specific geographical location. Below these sandy subsoils sits a layer of gravel, before the extensive cobweb of drains that ensure our greens will drain freely all year, encouraging the grass to flourish, thus providing a fantastic putting surface no matter the season.

5 CHOICES OF TEE BOX
Tees

With five choices of tee box, the course provides different yardage options and variations of approach to challenge all golfers, from amateurs to pros. We help each and every player enjoy the course and avoid frustration by providing tee boxes to best suit their game. This also helps avoid slow play during high season. We know that for a golfer, flat teeing areas are a must. We have total confidence that our laser levelled tees, again constructed with the same rootzone sandy subsoils, will provide well drained, flat, large teeing areas throughout the year.

A FAIR CHALLENGE
Bunkers

The incorporation of hazards, such as bunkers and water features, in a course is a given. They are an important element of the game, and we believe the Oaks Course is only enhanced by the placement and quality of our bunkers and water features, adding beauty and a fair challenge to players’ golfing experience. The construction of three new lakes alongside our original water features, combined with studious and careful bunkering provides an emphasis on strategy. Bunkers can sometimes be neglected, but our well drained, easily maintained bunkers ensure that we will have dry, sandy bunkers open for play at all times.

WELL CRAFTED
Fairways

Playing the Oaks Course, you can’t fail to notice the rolling, almost links-like nature of the fairways. This impressive sculpturing serves two fundamental purposes; it offers a dramatic backdrop to your game, and encourages golfers to carefully consider each shot in order to get the most out of their efforts. Over and above this, the nature of the fairways helps move water across the surface as rain falls, so it can be collected up efficiently by our extensive land drainage system to keep playing surfaces dry and playable.
