A Spooktacular Junior Golf Event

On Saturday 23rd October, Horsham Golf and MY Golf Academy hosted its second ‘Spooktacular Junior Golf Event’. Over 70 children between the ages of 4 and 17 attend regular lessons at the Academy on Saturdays during school term time.

The high-tech driving range at Horsham Golf was decorated making it look spooky and scary and all the children were invited to dress up and carve their own pumpkin! The activities on the driving range were all Halloween-themed with each spooky driving range bay providing a different challenge, like chip the ball into the coffin or drive your golf balls into the scary ghouls!

There were prizes for the best dressed Halloween golfer, most creative pumpkin carving, plus prizes for the five activities on the range. All the children had a devilishly good time!

Senior PGA Academy coach, Dave Dickenson, was supported by volunteer Warren Clarke, and Horsham Golf staff member Carly Humphreys to set up the day.

Dave said; ‘Junior coaching is a real passion of mine and so we take every opportunity to make it more fun and interactive. The costumes and pumpkin carvings were truly amazing, not to leave out the golf skills these children display! The future of the game is in safe hands and we certainly have some budding golf pros of the future here for sure!’
